McKinney Estate With Show-Stopping Car Showroom Sells Before Friday Auction

2115 Paradise Ranch Trail sold before auction

Turns out, the McKinney estate we’ve been telling you about — the one with a 6,200-square-foot car showroom that stole the spotlight — didn’t even make it to auction day.

The luxury property at 2115 Paradise Ranch Trail went under contract on Nov. 4, just three days before its scheduled no-reserve auction with Alicia Chmielewski of Elite Auctions. Realtor Holly Haven of Real Broker represented the listing.

Chmielewski says she can’t disclose the final sale price but confirmed the offer came in close to the $4.4 million asking price. The buyer, she says, is a North Texas resident who hadn’t been actively looking for a new home but discovered the property through Elite’s marketing.

“The buyer is a local resident who is currently building a hangar at the McKinney Airport, so the location was a major draw,” Haven adds.

That location is becoming even more desirable as McKinney National Airport undergoes expansion — including new hangars and a commercial passenger terminal, a project that broke ground in July 2025.

Originally listed for $5.9 million and reduced to $4.494 million, the 12,501-square-foot Tuscan-style home sits on 10.6 acres in McKinney’s gated Paradise Ranch community. Its unique combination of luxury living, equestrian amenities, and a car collector’s dream garage drew strong interest from buyers and agents alike — including many who toured during Elite Auctions’ open house weekends.

Luxury Living and a Garage That Steals the Show

Built in 2008 on a former limestone quarry, the home’s main residence offers four ensuite bedrooms, six bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen, and a glass-enclosed resort-style pool with a retractable roof and walls. There’s also a theater with a concession stand, fitness room, outdoor kitchen, and a four-stall equestrian barn set below the main home on rolling, treed acreage — a rare elevation change for North Texas.

But it’s the auto showroom that’s truly unforgettable. Designed to display more than 20 vehicles, the space features 100-year-old reclaimed barn timbers, a vintage 1950s-style soda fountain bar, and the atmosphere of a private car museum. When CandysDirt.com hosted an event there last fall, guests gravitated straight to the garage — mingling among polished classics, live music, and a whole lot of chrome.

A Win for the Luxury Auction Market

Before going under contract on Nov. 4, 2115 Paradise Ranch Trail had been on the market for 466 days, well above the average for North Texas luxury homes. MetroTex data shows that traditionally-marketed homes listed for $5 million and up spent an average of 86 days on market in 2024 (up from 58 days in 2023).

But that metric doesn’t tell the whole story in the ultra-luxury segment. Many trophy homes trade off-market for privacy or tax reasons, so MLS “days on market” figures only reflect listings that go public. A few luxury Realtors tell us that well over half of North Texas’ luxury homes are sold without ever hitting MLS — the so-called “hip pocket” listing that has drawn criticism from the National Association of Realtors.

In that context, the prolonged days on market for Paradise Ranch Trail aren’t entirely surprising. The estate’s specialized features and niche appeal naturally narrow the buyer pool. In this case, Elite Auctions’ marketing efforts helped put the home in front of different buyers and accelerated the timeline to sale.

“From start to finish, the property sold with Elite Auctions in 30 days,” Chmielewski said.

Since 2012, Elite Auctions has marketed more than $1.5 billion in luxury real estate and yachts, working with high-end sellers who want to move quickly without compromising value.

For buyers, the takeaway is clear: in DFW’s luxury segment, waiting for auction day can sometimes mean missing the opportunity entirely.

“Home auctions create a sense of urgency for buyers,” Chmielewski said. “We’re not just selling a home, but we’re selling an opportunity — and that opportunity comes with a deadline.”
