Where the Garage Outshines the Mansion: McKinney Luxury Estate Heads to Auction Soon

2115 Paradise Ranch

For car enthusiasts who dream of displaying their collection in museum-quality style, this McKinney estate may be the ultimate find. Last week, we told you about the 12,500-square-foot luxury property that is going to auction without reserve on Friday, Nov. 7. Now, we have to gush about the 6,200-square-foot showroom that’s unlike anything you’ve likely seen in a private residence before.

Listed for $4.495 million, the home at 2115 Paradise Ranch Trail sits on 10.6 acres in the Paradise Ranch community, just five miles from downtown McKinney. The auction is being managed by Elite Auctions, with Realtor Holly Haven of Real Broker holding the listing.

Designed for Collectors

Built in 2008 on a former limestone quarry site, the property’s showpiece is the expansive showroom, designed to house more than 20 vehicles. The space combines function and flair — incorporating 100-year-old reclaimed barn timbers, a 1950s-style soda fountain bar, and enough room for gatherings or car club events.

“It’s ideal for automotive collectors who want museum-quality display space combined with luxury living,” said Tara McLean, president and co-founder of Elite Auctions.

I can tell you firsthand this showroom is impressive. We hosted a CandysDirt.com event at Paradise Ranch Trail last September, where we had food, drinks, and personalized CandysDirt cookies. But we didn’t spend much time in the house — the action was all in the garage.

How do you ignore a beautiful 12,000 square foot home with an opulent glass-enclosed resort pool that has a retractable roof like Jerry Jones’? You can when that home is attached to a 6,200 square foot showroom with classic cars you’ve only dreamt of seeing up close.

The atmosphere was easy and relaxed, more like a Saturday night hangout than a weeknight real estate event. A live band played classic rock and blues favorites that filled the space with energy. Guests mingled among the rows of gleaming vintage cars, snapping photos and swapping stories about their favorites. Between the music, the lights reflecting off polished chrome, and just a slight whiff of motor oil in the air, it felt like the kind of place where I could picture many nights with friends going long. And that’s what you want in a home, right?

It’s not every day you find a property where the garage steals the show, but this one absolutely did.

Luxury Living and Resort-Style Amenities

Still, with all that entertaining space, it’s worth remembering the main residence more than holds its own. The four-bedroom, six-bathroom home includes a chef’s kitchen that’s outfitted with premium appliances and every thoughtful amenity you might need at your fingertips. A glass-enclosed pool room with retractable walls and ceiling blurs the line between indoors and out, while vaulted ceilings, arched doorways, and stone fireplaces add Tuscan character and warmth throughout.

There’s also a fully-decked home theater with concession stand, a fitness room, and an outdoor kitchen — plus a four-stall equestrian barn and open pasture that’s located down a sharp slope from the main home, which sits roughly 60 feet above the lower acreage. Bonus: Owners benefit from no city tax, a 1.3 percent property tax rate, and an agricultural exemption on nine acres. This home is clearly full of possibilities.
