The mansion at 11322 E. Ricks Circle in Dallas lived in by Dallas City Council Member Lee Kleinman and his family is headed to auction without reserve on September 28.
Kleinman said in an interview with the Dallas Business Journal that he hates to part with the place, but it’s time to downsize.
“The primary reason we’re selling is that the kids are grown and out of the house, so it’s time for us to downsize a little bit,” he said. “It’s with a heavy heart that we put this house up for sale. It’s just time for us to move to something smaller.”

Designed to highlight the scenic setting of its location, the home was the result of teamwork between esteemed architect Greg Ibañez, builder Travis & Travis and designer Donna Guerra.
Built in 1993, the 7,154-square-foot home’s design and construction consists of pier and beam construction, 6-inch insulated exterior walls, standing seam metal roof, granite countertops, cherry wood cabinetry, oak floors, and both steel and engineered lumber framing.
It has a double helix floating staircase, Dacor convection double oven, Gagganau electric and gas cooktop with grill, dual dishwashers, SubZero refrigerator and solar panels to conserve energy.
The house has five bedrooms, six full bathrooms, two powder rooms, a four-car garage and four fireplaces. A 15-yard lap pool with spa and an outdoor area with grill, smoker and pizza oven are among its other amenities.
The contemporary-styled home boasts an abundance of natural light-filled spaces including the dining, living and den areas, which have floor-to-ceiling windows. The home has hosted plenty of family and friends at parties and holidays as well as mayors and state and federal legislators, said Kleinman, a technology executive who is married to Dr. Lisa Umholtz, an obstetrician-gynecologist.
The house sits on two acres with creek views in a very walkable neighborhood near the trail system, Kleinman added.
