Two very different properties on more than 350 acres of farmland in Carroll County are going to auction.
One, a 9-bedroom estate full of luxurious amenities on 20 acres, and the other a 1870s farmhouse with the remaining acreage, crop fields, barns, silos and a pond.
The two properties at 6702 and 6700 Old Washington Road in Woodbine will be auctioned separately on-site and without reserve on Nov. 9. Elite Auctions out of Naples, Florida, will handle the auction, which will take place at 11 a.m. for the estate and 1 p.m. for the farm and farmhouse.
Without reserve means, “it will sell to the highest bidder regardless of price,” said Tara McLean, president of Elite Auctions.
“Someone is going to get an amazing deal,” she added.
Realtor Don Heasley with the Bob Lucido Team of Keller Williams Integrity is listing the properties.
Both Heasley and McLean were unable to provide a starting price for the auction. An old listing of the estate that included 100 acres instead of 20 was posted at $3.9 million, with the remaining land and buildings going for $500,000 — a total of about $4.4 million.
Heasley said the properties have garnered interest from individuals across the country, part of the reason owners Walter and Julie Kennell decided to sell them through a national luxury auction company instead of on the local market.
Aerial photos of the sprawling property show rolling hills used for hunting and farming, with a cluster of outbuildings down the road from a stone and stucco estate that spans over 23,000 square feet.
