A penthouse apartment with six terraces on Florida’s Marco Island is headed under the hammer without reserve.
The ornate five-bedroom spread, on the barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico, will be auctioned on Feb. 29, with Elite Auctions.
Inside the nearly 6,000-square-foot penthouse, interiors are embellished with marble flooring, decorative crown molding, architecturally designed columns, custom cabinetry and onyx countertops, according to the listing with the auction house.
The glitzy 23rd-floor unit is also fitted with a private elevator, a study, a library, a 135-bottle wine chiller and a master suite complete with a sauna, a sitting area and custom walk-in closets.
Six terraces provide prime opportunity for dolphin watching along with views of Ten Thousand Islands, a group of uninhabited islands and mangroves—though not as many as 10,000—and across miles of sandy beaches and ocean.
“For the discriminating luxury real estate buyer, this extraordinary property checks all the boxes,” said Tara McLean, president of Elite Auctions. The 24-story building’s amenities include a theater, private beach access, tennis courts, a fitness center and a fishing dock.
The penthouse, which belongs to the founder of an asset management company and his wife, remains available for pre-auction purchase. It has been asking $5.49 million since last February, listing records show.
