Mansion Global: Ornate Florida Mansion with its Own Botanical Garden Heads to Auction

A grand waterfront home in Marco Island, Florida, with a collection of tropical flora worthy of its own botanical garden, is headed for auction next month.

The neoclassical home on a barrier island by Naples, Florida, known as Greystone Manor, was originally built for the late Bob Turley, a pitcher for the New York Yankees in the 1950s, in 1988. Turley, who died in 2013, and the current owner, philanthropist Tim Farris, over the decades created lavish interiors, such as the elaborate entrance hall lined in columns and topped with a painted barrel-vaulted ceiling.
